Megan Lucas Dallas Styling Apprentice Q&A:
From an early age, I was always expressing my love and interest in beauty. I feel like I was always getting caught raiding my mother’s makeup or giving my barbies the latest and greatest hair style. I am a native Floridian, however, I have spent the majority of my childhood traveling.
I have spent many years experiencing other countries and different cultures. This broadened my appreciation for art. Its is this appreciation of art that encouraged me to go to become a hairstylist. In my free time, I love to go to the park with my two dogs, Luxe and Vedder, work on my latest art projects, and song write with my husband.
Why do you love hair? I love hair because it is a way for me to give back to the world in a way that allows me to be creative.
Favorite Service(s) to Provide: I love any service that allows me to let my creative juices fly, but my top favorite would have to me razor cutting and color.
Favorite book? My favorite would have to be either Through The Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll or The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.
If your luggage was lost, which 3 hair products would you have to have in your carry on?
- Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Reactivating Mist
- Oribe Dry Texturing Spray
- Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow It
If you had to do one style of hair for the rest of your life, what would it be? I love doing all types of hair, but, i would have to say funky fun haircuts and colors. I love to utilize my tools and color placement to create beautiful looks for my clients that is a representation of them.
Grade you got on your first hair test? The first grade I ever got on a hair test was a C. I am pretty sure it was on perms.
Personal Hair Horror Story: The worst personal hair horror story happened when I was 13. That was the first time I bleached my own hair. My hair turned an awful orange/salmon color. It was so damaged I had to cut it real real real short!
Favorite cocktail? Ginger Bomb…its Crabbie’s Ginger Beer with a shot of Jameson and a lime.
Is there one gift you don’t mind getting over and over again? My favorite gift to get over and over again would be anything music or art related. I especially love handmade jewelry and old records.
