By this point, the taboo of clip-in hair extensions has come and gone. Depending on your specific needs, there are two options to add length and volume: permanent, and clip-in hair extensions. For someone looking to add length or volume on a daily basis, permanent hair extensions are the way to go. If you are looking for a really easy way to add some length or volume on an as-needed basis, clip-in or temporary extensions are your best option.
If you get the set of temporary hair extensions that a hair extension expert deems best for your hair type, you can absolutely get results that can be worn on special occasions with no damage. The reason clip-in and temporary hair extensions are not meant for everyday use is plain and simple: if used daily, they have a serious potential to create damage to your own natural hair.
As I always say when doing a hair extension consultation, there is no set that is a one-size-fits all. This is why you should run when you see hair extensions at a kiosk in a mall, or your local beauty supply store.
The quality of hair is a huge concern, but most important is knowing the set will not cause permanent damage. In the end, the last thing you want to do is spend a couple hundred dollars on some hair extensions and one of two things happen:
- The hair ends up being more of a toy for your cat since you can’t seem to get a brush through the matted tangle it ended up becoming.
- You end up causing damage to your hair because the clip, or attachment, was too heavy and didn’t suit what your natural hair could support.
Here are a few hair extension options for you to consider:
This system is my favorite new product to come out in the temporary extension market! It is a clip-less temporary hair extension system that is perfectly fitted to your head, and uses a light wire that secures it to your head just like how a halo fits. It’s the easiest, most user-friendly system on the market. Not to mention the fact that it doesn’t have clips – which takes away the possibility of damage from your natural hair bearing the weight of other clip-in extension systems.

For adding more volume and length, Easiextend is the perfect system. This set comes in 8 pieces, 4 for the back, and 4 for the sides (2 each.) With this many pieces, you are able to tier the extensions and create a layered look that gives believable length. This system comes in 16” and 20” length to give maximum length.
