Dallas Updo’s and Formal Styles 2013

It’s already October! Now is a good time to start thinking about how you want your hair done for the holiday parties. How do you decide? Here are a couple of ideas that will work for almost anyone!

Chignon – Definitely of the most popular! Hair can be pinned into a knot at the base of the neck. You also have the option to keep it centered or pulled to either sides. For a sleek look, pull all of your hair back or part it on one side. If you’re more comfortable with having some loose pieces around your face you can also do that!

Braided Updo – You have the option of doing a bigger braid or something small and dainty. A look that I love is the side braid combined with a loose chignon at the nape. Another option would be a side braid along with loose waves pulled to one side. Stop the braid at your ear and let the loose waves flow!

Loose Updo and Mega Curls – Start by giving yourself big curls using a wand or a big barrel curling iron. Using bobby pins give yourself a half up half down look.

Blunt Bangs – Now if you have blunt bangs, I always like the formal look to be all up so the bangs make a statement. A loose updo with blunt bangs would give you the ultimate glam look.

Slick and Voluminous – Yes you can do both! Slicking one (or both) sides back with a firm hold gel gives you a beautiful polished look. You can pull all of your hair to one side or all back. And you can wear your hair straight or with loose waves with this look! Teasing aka backcombing is a MUST.

There are plenty of ways to wear your hair for holiday parties…now is the time to start booking out your appointments to get these glam looks.
