There are numerous products that claim to restructure the bonds that are broken down during a color service. However, at The Beauty Box, there are only two that we fully stand behind the products because we have seen the difference they can make; which include Olaplex Bond Multiplier and B3 Brazilian Blowout Bond Builder. Through research and experience, we have been able to determine that new levels and exponential heights can certainly be reached when we use these products.
So lets break it down… Olaplex vs B3
What is B3 Brazilian Bond Builder? B3 Brazilian Bond Builder (also known as B3) is a professional tool that can be mixed into all color formulations to build bonds, allowing for more creative freedom in your color services, helping to reduce damage with no added processing time.”
B3 uses a precisely developed co-polymer mixed in a high -purity targeted distribution system. This amazing one-step system rebuilds and reconnects the bonds that create the cellular membrane while helping to prevent hair loss or damage to the cuticle and cortex cells which are what protect the inner structure of your hair. It also reduces breakage and improves the integrity of your hair as well as it helps to extend the life of your color without lengthening the processing time.
What is Olaplex Bond Multiplier? Olaplex is free of silicone, sulfates, phthalates, DEA, aldehydes and is never tested on animals. Olaplex reconnects broken disulfide sulfur bonds in the hair. hair bonds are broken during thermal, mechanical and chemical services.
Olaplex Bond Multiplier works well with Keratin treatments and makes hair more flexible and resistant to breakage. Th protection offered by Olaplex is permanent. so if you stop using it at any point (why on earth you would want to is beyond me), the progress is not lost. The active ingredient is a compound called bis-aminopropyl diglycol dima.
There have yet to be any published scientific trials, aside from the numerous before and after photos; which I might add, are incredible. There is however, a side by side comparison in the American Board of Certified Hair Colorists news letter where they shampooed clippings of hair 4 times after a treatment using Blondor and 40 mixed with either Olaplex, B3, mineral oil or colorpHlex (all of which claim to do the same thing) and had it process for 50 min. It appears to me, that Olaplex won that battle. But you be the judge.
