Tape Hair Extensions 101

If you are a newbie then you are probably wondering if what the heck tape in hair extensions are? Basically, it’s a very thin panel what has hair attached to it. A very thin layer of surgical tape is applied to the base of the tape in hair extension. Two of these panels sandwich your own hair in the middle.

Let’s get 3 basic questions out of the way:

  • No they won’t tear your hair out. A remover neutralizes the stickiness so they can be removed easily.
  • No they won’t slip out.
  • No it’s not duct tape, scotch tape, or even a cassette tape. A very strong surgical quality tape holds the extension in place.

Tape in hair extensions are great for all kinds of hair. You are a candidate if you have fine, thin hair to medium normal hair. I usually recommend something different if you have thick, coarse hair.

Tape hair extensions can be worn for about 6-8 weeks before they need to be taken out, new tape put on, and then reapplied.

Quikkies vs. Easilengths – Which Dallas tape in hair extension is right for me?

So, what is right for you? Both tape in hair extension systems are amaze. The basics of each system are about the same, however there are several subtle nuances that make them better for different types of people.

I will always have a special place in my heart for Easilengths Tape in Hair Extensions by Easihair Pro. I help invent these puppies after all. These are our #1 selling hair extension system in our Dallas salon. What I love about these is that they work for all kinds of hair types. The texture is the best if you have a medium texture, however, can work for most textures. They are durable and hold up well to wear and tear.

What makes Quikkies Tape in Hair Extensions by Hairdreams  unique is it’s fine, yet wavy texture. The hair quality is fantastic and blends very well if you have a finer texture hair. The panels are super thin and the tape is crazy strong. All of this is great as long as you aren’t hard on your hair. The base of the Quikkies panels are a little more fragile than easilengths.

It can be a tough decision deciding which is right for a client. It all comes down to what is right for your budget, lifestyle, and what kind of hair you have. The great news is we offer FREE consultations and carry both brands in stock! Sweet.
